Matthew Ballinger is the deputy editor for content business strategy at the Los Angeles Times. He previously launched and led the Utility Journalism Team. A Southern California native and Cal State Fullerton graduate, Ballinger joined the Los Angeles Times in 2008 and has worked as a copy editor, homepage editor, history blogger and Homicide Report editor, as well as working on the rollouts of several newsroom technology platforms.
